The Notorious String Busters

Bluegrass music is a form of American roots music, and is a sub-genre of country music. It has mixed roots in Scottish, music of African-Americans and the English[1], Welsh[citation needed] and Irish[citation needed] traditional music. Bluegrass was inspired by the music of immigrants from the United Kingdom and Ireland (particularly the Scotch-Irish immigrants in Appalachia)[citation needed].

Ithaca Concert Band

The Ithaca Concert Band, founded in 1976 by Joan Beeler and a small dedicated board of directors, continues the community band tradition. The Band performs about a dozen free concerts per year in local auditoriums, on the Commons, and in area parks. The Band is comprised of musicians from all walks of life. From student to professor, professional to retiree, the band's musicians play for the love of the music. Over 500 musicians have played with the band since its formation. New members are always welcome.

Hank Roberts

He strums, plucks and bows his way through an incredible array of sounds, by turns far-out and spacey, then earthy and natural. It’s the sound of urban Jazz lofts, but also Irish firesides, Lenni Lenape dances, Jimi Hendrix and Stephen Foster.

The Grady Girls

A Quartet of fiddles, flute, and bodhran played by a pair of sisters and their two cousins, the Grady Girls gracefully combine the pulsing melodies of slides and polkas (that they picked up in the southwest of Ireland), with more widely known dance tunes such as jigs and reels. Proudly carrying on the musical traditions of their forefathers and foremothers, the lovely young Gradys will sing, fiddle, and step-dance their way into your hearts, much as they entered ours from the first time we met them.
